I'm going to graduate from college in 2011 or 2012 and I want to live in a community with a lot of artists, actors and musicians because my friends and I want to make indy films and it would help to have talented people around us. I'm not sure what my income will be but I know I won't be able to afford more than $800 per month even with my friend as a roommate. I'd also like to attend a good church.

  1. If you want a bohemian community I have no clue why you'd even consider Charlotte.  There are a few communities that are relatively okay, and a lot that aren't acceptable at all.  My personal experience is that it's a backward area as far as culture and intellectual communities.

  2. There are 1 or 2 areas that fit exactly what you are describing in Charlotte.  One is called the NoDa area (as in North Davidson) it is just north of uptown and runs along Davidson street.  The other is called Plaza-Midwood.  It is really popular and trendy and a lot more expensive.  You could probably find something close to your price range in the NoDa area.  Most people in Charlotte would know what area you are talking about if you tell them you are looking for something there.
