i would like to work from home at a legit job on the internet. how do i find this job without paying any money first?

A job from home doesn't cost you anything, just like a job offline doesn't. If you're seeing something that's asking for money, it's not an actual job. To find a work from home job, first go to job posting sites, such as Monster or HotJobs. Then, search through the type of job you're looking for using the keyword "telecommuting". Do you have a lot of experience in a certain field? If not, then it's unlikely that you'll find a regular work from home job. Many employers aren't going to want an unexperienced person working unsupervised from home.

With a home job, there is going to be the risk of being fired!  A job doesn't have upfront costs, I think your getting this confused with starting a home based business.  You get into touch with the companies applying for the positions available on line.  If you qualify for them.  Here's an article you should read that will help you find legitimate home based jobs as well as provide a couple places in which if you qualify for the position, you can apply for and hope to receive the job.  Nothing is different with home jobs, except for the fact that you work from home and not in an office.  Same hiring process, same qualifications needed, and you can be fired the same way.
