i have 2 dvc 4 ohm rockford fosgate p3's (400w rms at 4 ohms a piece) and i just bought a JBL BPx500.1 this amp is capable of running all the way down to a 1 ohm load but the output does not change regardless of impedence. I am not sure if it better to wire the subs up for a 2 ohm or 1 ohm load? which will give me the best loudest sound?

  1. wire them to 1 ohm series parallel and youll get some good sound...as long as ur amp can handle it...ive never seen a amp that at 2 and 1 ohm does the same rms.....u sure it is 1 ohm stable?

  2. with two 4ohm DVC subs they can be wired to give you impedances or 1 or 4ohms at the amp (not 2ohms), here is a diagram of your wiring options http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer...

if the amps RMS wattage does not change then go with the higher impedance at the amp because the higher the final impedance the better your sound quality

    amp specs=

    237 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohms and ≤1% THD + N

    718 watts RMS x 1 channel at 4 ohms,

    14.4V supply and ≤1% THD + N

    674 watts RMS x 1 channel at 1 ohm,

    14.4V supply and ≤1% THD + N

Signal-to-Noise Ratio 66.4 dBA (reference 1 watt into 4 ohms)

Dynamic Power 790 watts at 4 ohms
