What is the best on-line translator?

I do a lot of International chat. I need to find a translator that is the best to use - one that recognizes phrases rather than just words. Mostly, I use the translator for English to Spanish or Spanish to English. I also occasionally need other languages. What translator do you use, and what languages do you need to translate?
