Question:

What is the best online source for international news?

Must be free and in english. I have been using CNN World News, but it's basically a view of what's happening in the world through the eyes of Washington. I don't really want to hear everything Bush and Condoleezza Rice said yesterday.

Thanks for your help!

  1. Comments on BBC, they're a great news source, one I check every day. But when you read/ listen to them you need to remember that they've got their pet biases just like other news agencies. So my recommendation of what news sources to check- by all means, check the BBC, but also check other sources as well (give you a more overall, correct view of what is going on). I personally check the BBC, Jerusalem Post (very middle east point of view), and MSNBC World News.

Another new source that I absolutely love is STRATFOR. They provide very very educated and unbiased analysis of events. It's crazy just how great they are. Here is a URL for a recent article if you care:

    http://www.stratfor.com/weekly/russo_geo...

(to get everything they offer, yes it's a subscription, but they're free e-mails are outstanding!)

    Cheers!

  2. BBC yeah.

  3. Have you ever read the news on Aljazeera?

It will give you a different perceptive -

from a Middle Eastern point of view

  4. I would have to say the BBC or REUTERS News.  They have news from all around the globe.  You can also try google news.  I use CNN a lot to.  It depends on where you are I guess.  I am in Canada so it works perfectly for me.  .

  5. Most US and UK online news have their own self-serving agendas; i usually avoid them. Try The Economist UK www.economist.com

  6. Two actually. Both have news categorized by continents or areas of the world. And you can also download their news broadcasts via web streaming. The first one listed is the BBC. I download and listen to the "News Hour" show on demand because it is one of the better ones on international English language radio.

  7. I agree with the first answer. Try viewing it through the eyes of the Middle East.

  8. BBC used to be known for it's factual and unbiased reporting..
