I am a US citizen who would like the opportunity to share my teaching experience and knowledge in the EU. To do this I have learned that a EU passport and/or work permit is first required. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

  2. You are a U.S. Citizen, so HOW DO YOU PLAN TO GET AN E.U. PASSPORT?  Are you going to renounce your U.S. Citizenship?  because that is the ONLY way you are going to get an EU passport.

THEN ... you need to find a job BEFORE you go over... so you will need to find someone who is willing to swear they are hiring you because they can't find someone locally to do the job.

Considering the high unemployment in Europe... your idea is not even CLOSE to being realistic... because it's NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

If you have your teaching papers, then your best bet is the Peace Corps... you may not go to Europe, but at least you will be out of the U.S.

  3. you do not need a passport to teach in Europe, you will need a job offer first, and get a work visa, from the country where you will teach, besides, unless you have some ascendants(family) from Europe? you will not get a passport,

but if you were to live there for a while? you could get one,and still keep your US citizenship,

  4. Well The Netherlands allowed dual citizenship! Lots of Americans that i know have dutch and American citizenship. But moving to this country for what I've heard is hard. But if you got papers for education you might become a English teacher, the Netherlands is looking for teachers. But also to live her and to get a Dutch passport you will have to speak the language. But you will follow classes for that and make an exam.

Cause Europe is much different that the U.S and speaks more language's where did you had in mind to go and work?

  5. You need to get a job. Your boss will need to be willing to sponsor you to apply for a resident permit AND a work permit. After having lived in Europe for 3 to 5 years you might be able to apply for the nationality and obtain a passport.

  6. So you want an EU passport? Now there are 25 countries in the EU. Each one have there own citizenships laws.
