  1. last summer i spent two weeks traveling in spain.  we stayed in madrid, sevilla, cordoba, toledo, malaga, and granada.  toledo was by far my favorite.  however granada (la alhambra) was amazing as well!  also if you have time you should definately go to a beach - they are incredible

  2. I went to a place called Moraira during the summer and it was really beautiful. Its pretty quite so if thats not what your looking for I wouldnt recomend it. But if it is, its worth a visit. Its a little old fishing village. The people are so nice and the restaurants are amazing. Its in between Alicante and Valencia. The weather s great. And so is the scenery. Mountains, sea, beach. Its very relaxing!

  3. I lived in Santander for over a year.  It is right on the Cantabrian Sea, and the land there is beautiful IMO.  Where I lived, there were mountains to the west with visible snow caps, and the sea was within walking distance.  The city of Santander isn't that big compared to some of Spain's other larger cities such as Madrid or Barcelona, but it's nice in it's own right.

I also lived in Barcelona for a short time, and it too was a great place.  La Calle Rambla was fun to walk down.  There's lots of great scenery there.

It just depends on what you like to determine what the best part is.

  4. i would advide you to visit madrid or barcelona, and if you want to see a historical city so go to toledo and granada is pretty and sevilla if you want a tipical and autentic spanish culture, its great! in fact i live in spain (malaga) its nice =)

  5. beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I don;t know much about the rest because I've not visited but we had an amazing time in the Andalusian mountains. Incredible scenery, great food and its a bit off the beaten track so you are not swamped by other tourists.

  7. Just don´t pay attention on HM 10... Such an...

Well, that´s a problem with some people in Catalonia and The Basque Country, they´re kinda freaks who want to be independent countries from Spain... What do you think? Such a crazyness... But both Catalonia and Basque Country ARE Spain...

The best place to go is Madrid, yeah, you don´t have beaches, but it´s the best place to be in.

    Good points:

    - Nice people, Madrid is a nice city with loads of good people, we say in here that: "If you come to Madrid, you are from Madrid..."

    - Great city, the closest city in Spain to the cities in Canada, US and Europe.

    - Parrrrttttyy!, loads of good clubs, cool life night, gigs and so on... Pubs and clubs are open until the morning...

    - History and culture... Museums, can I say more? Thyssen, el Prado, and so on...

    Bad points:

    - No beach.

    - People talk loud. (In Madrid in all Spain)

    Some nice pics from Madrid:

  9. Well, I am from Barcelona, but as to culture, nice places, people... I must say the best place is Madrid, so far (perhaps because it is the capital).

Then as to crazy party, is Ibiza. In beautiful beaches i'd say it's Marbella, Costa del Sol and Costa dorada and Canarias.

About Barcelona, I must say not all Catalonia's people thinks that it's not part from Spain (most part doesn't do, just politicians and some people who is so noisy that make it appear that it is the most part who thinks that way, just as HIM10)

As a city is nice too, very international nowadays, and it has some beautiful buildings. But I'd rather prefer Madrid.

  10. Absolutely, positively, without a doubt:  Andalucía, Sevilla, more specifically, although Granada runs a close second.  Don´t skip Madrid and Barcelona if you can manage it all, and lots of people swear by the North coast, as well, lots to see there, but I have little experience there, myself, but I swear by the South.  It´s the most "Spanish" part of the country.  Home of Flamenco, and Bullfighting, and all the things you think of when you think of Spain.

  11. The departing flights.

  12. Visit Barcelona and Bilbao. Neither is Spanish but in countries occupied by Spain.

ps. In Bilbao check out my flowery dog by Jeff Koons outside the Guggenheim

pps. Don't support animal cruelty by going to the Bullfighting

  13. the best part of spain is the northern part of san sebastian. i would stay there and travel to the surrounding cities of zumala ( i think that is spelled rite) where they have huge hills or small mountains and great views of the sea and bilbao where they have the guggenheim museum. the place is amazing. if you ever do go to guggenheim i would see the "the matter of time exhibit" truly amazing. san sebastian is the best place ever. the beaches there are white sand and blue, clear water and the people are fabulous. but get ready to walk. cars are almost non exist there

  14. That depends on your interest -- beaches, mountains, etc cities

However, Andalusia has all three and is probably a good place for a first time traveler.

Personally, I think the entire country is great to vist

  15. el grifo de cerveza
