  2. Coles, Woolworths, IGA, K-mart, Target, Big W, The Warehouse, Office Works etc... There is many opportunities out there.

Coles, Kmart, Target and Office works are under the same company (so to speak) - working there you also get a staff discount card plus cheaper movie tickets through work.  Starting rate for my son (3 years ago now) was $8.35 an hour, so maybe more now.  He left last year and was on $15 an hour on Sundays, $11 an hour normal days.  This is paid at a casual rate, which is higher and better for you.

It's great for after school and weekends... I know Coles was really good, if you told them you only wanted to work certain days that was fine with them.

    - Most of the places above you apply online on their websites, look for a link 'careers' or 'employment'.  A bit lengthy I know.... but you fill in what area you want to work etc, and they will email you jobs coming up, you can pick and choose, if you are then accepted they will call you in for an interview.

One other thing and I am not sure if you school does this, but in Qld they have school-based apprenticeships.  So you can be at school for 2 or 3 days a week and work the rest and get paid!   This way you get a head start on an apprentice - anything your heart desires.  The school career adviser sets it all up for you, might be worth talking to them about it.

    Good Luck with it all.
