I have a three year old daughter who wants a pet, but where we live we cant have a dog, and I'm allergic to cats. We've tried fish, they don't seem to last. What should I get her?

  1. I have heard that rats are good pets.  I haven't had one myself, but I have met people who do, and they love them.

  2. A hamster.

  3. A Turtle!

I bought a turtle for my little sister and she loved it, and its not like a fish, it actually has a personality and is fun to watch. It also teaches responsibility since you have to clean the bow every day.

  4. Maybe a Rabbit I have 7 but they are hard to take care of.

  5. I say a Guinea Pig.  They aren't hard to take care off and they only need there cage cleaned a few times.  Sometimes they squel and it's annoying so find a nice quiet one.

  6. If you aren't afraid of reptiles, maybe something like a little gecko.  I have one, he's easy to take care of, and he is always on the move.  My little cousin LOVES to hold it and play with it.

  7. A Royal Python

    A rodent of some sort

    A rabbit

  8. I have rescued rabbits for 20 some years and raised as well as breed domestic rabbits. I have found that is someone is allergic to cat they are allergic to rabbits. Rabbit dander is most like a cats. This is why rabbits does not really need baths....If I can be of any help just let me know...Michael

  9. I would suggest a rabbit.  Or look at getting a hypoalergenic cat.

  10. A Ferret!

Ferrets make wonderful, affectionate pets! They're very loving. The things you want to remember are...

    1. They sleep A LOT; I mean like 16 hours per day.

    2. When they're awake, they'll often want to play with you.

    3. They're VERY curious. Be careful that they don't crawl into a place they'll end up getting stuck in.

    4. If they get really excited and start jumping around and making noises, they aren't mad; it means they're happy and having fun!

  11. A rat they're like mini dogs - the allergies
