  1. The pitching wedge usually comes as part of the full iron set one purchases. This gives one consistency in shaft whippiness, the " feel" of the club as related to the rest of the set, and leads to confidence when using the club. If you purchase a single club, make sure that you can feel the head of the club as you swing. I have never purchased either a set of irons or woods that didn't feel right to the touch. The feel of the head had to be pronounced when wiggling the club with a firm grip.

  2. If you're looking for a good club, that is not going to break the budget. Adams makes a good set of wedges, it's their Tom Watson model and they sell for like $40 a piece, and I think you can get the set of three for about $100. It's no Cleveland or Titleist, but it's a solid club. I had an older version of these about three or four years ago, and they were great, I recently upgrated to Cleveland CG12s.

You wont get much of a choice of lofts and bounce, they have three models (52/7, 56/12, 60/7) but at this price, they are not targeting the type of player who is looking for very specific loft and bounce combinations. For the weekend golfer, these will do.

  3. Golfsmith has cleveland wedges on sale for $69 a piece right now.

  4. you usually get one with a set of irons?

but you could get a titleist, callaway, nike wedge used for a very low price and it would still look "as new"

  5. We don't know what your budget is, so it's hard to answer that question.

Most good wedges - Cleveland, Titleist Vokey, etc. - are in the range of $99 to $119. Is that within you budget?
