What is the best place and way for a first time seller to sell items on the internet?

E-Bay or Craig's List? Do you have any personal experience with either? Please give how-to DETAILS.....

Craig's list works well but people tend to overcharge for the shipment. E-Bay used to be a prime market but to my humble opinion of  Power Seller since 2001  I can say that it is not any more what it used to be :1- prices are down the drain and you dont get any longer 1/2 of what you used to  get for your items 2- e-Bay fees including Paypal went  up and it takes a good chunk of your selling price   3- there are a lot of scamers and frauders on e-Bay and you must be very careful whom you sell to and whom you buy from. Always check  the feedbacks  carefully before to get into business with someone.  Then mind the shipment, people double normal USPS fees just for the sake of making a bigger profit.  Ask how much weighs the item and try to find out on the Net the fee for the shipment.  Selling on e-Bay is now a job of its own and if you seriously think about it  you better try to find in  your town a  teacher certified by e-Bay : they are called certified education specialist (CES) and you can  find a list on e-Bay site. I've had a lot of experince with Ebay, and it is top notch. And it is very convenient to use PayPal to send or receive $$. Just follow the the Ebay instructions on their web site, and you shouldn't have any trouble registering and then listing your item.
