  1. I've been in Hotel Genesio (10 minutes by walk from Santa Maria Novella railway station); it's on fourth floor (if I well remember) of a building with other Hotel inside; comfortable, rooms are large enough and the service is good. When I was there (a couple of years ago), I found a friendly staff. The only bad thing was nothing interesting to see form the window :)

Currently the rate for a double or twin room is reported to be 96 € (total for two people including breakfast).

  2. Try Bargello. It's reasonable and centrally located.

  3. Hotel Nizza,

    Via del Giglio 5

    50123 Florence - Italy

A 17th century building right in the middle of the city, just a 10-minute walk from the train station. Continue eastward for another 10 minutes to the Duomo. The river Arno is about 15 minutes souhwest. and the Mercato Centrale (Central market), 10 minutes northeast. Friendly front desk staff are always ready to help. Room rates vary depending on the season. <*-*>

  4. About 20-25 minutes out of Florence is a great little B&B in Chianti, Tuscany called Ancora del Chianti.  Google it.  It was about 80-85 Euro a night, and a very lovely place.  As far as in the city of Florence, it might be hard to find something under 100 Euro that is considered a "comfortable" stay:)

Check out some of the sites like Frommer's or Foder's for more information!

    Good luck!!
