We're organizing this for people who are in Gaithersburg from out of town. I've found nice places in DC, but that's too far to go without people knowing the area well. We're looking for traditional brunch food, such as pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc, and also some lunch food like sandwiches and burgers. It would be for a Sunday morning. Any ideas would be GREAT! Thanks.

  1. The Hilton next to the fairgrounds used to have a nice buffet on Saturdays, never tried Sunday and haven't been for at least a year.  But, it's worth checking on.

  2. there is the original pancake house on rockville pike. there is joes crab shack on washingtonian blvd off of 270. both nice places. if it is morning, i would go to the original pancake house.

  3. The Holiday Inn in Gaithersburg on Rt. 355 and Montgomery Village Ave. has a great all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch. Brunch is about $18 and starts at 11:30 AM.  They have typical breakfast foods with an omlet & belgium waffle station and hot entres usually beef, chicken, fish, and vegetable. Included is salad bar with fresh fruit and other types of salads plus dessert.  If you have a lot of people, reservations are recommended and they also have a private room in the back.  Oh if you need to go earlier, try the Marriott at the Rio. They too have a nice all-you-can-eat breakfast but no lunch type foods but you can probably order off the menu. Enjoy.

  4. La Madeline French Bakery in Rockville, MD

It's a wonderful place.  I had been there only once; but can't seem to forget about it.  I learned that there is more than one in the metropolitan area of DC. The one in Rockville will be the close one for you and your group to get to.
