    I would recommend their resturaunt review since you didn't tell us what type of food you were looking for, or what part of Dallas. It's a big city and can easily take an hour to go from one side to the other. You don't want to drive an hour on $4/gal gas, do you?

  14. Wow, Carol I have lived in Dallas, TX my whole life and most of these recommendations are absolutely terrible. I love hole in the wall good food, so here is my good list of little great places.

    1. Bubba's on Hillcrest, best down south fried chicken

    2. Piggie Pie's on Greenville Ave., good pizza/pasta that is not CiCi's, Pizza Hut or Dominos

    3. Gonzales on Jefferson off close to the intersection of Hampton and Fort Worth Ave in South Dallas/Oak Cliff - BEST Tex Mex

    4. Bob's Steakhouse, for steak of course (However, this and the next one are not hole in the wall places but nationally recognized for quality red meat)

    5. Three Forks, amazing salad as well

    6. The Idle Rich, great pub food - I'd eat their Fish & Chips, Burgers, Frites anyday

    7. For quality drinks, The Flying Saucer & The Ginger Man

    8. Another good pizza, the Grotto

    9. Wild About Harry's off Knox for a good hot dog/ice cream

    10. Red, Hot, & Blue for Bar-be-que

  18. I live in the Dallas area and you're talking lots of restaurants! What do you like...steaks, texmex, diner style? For steaks, "Salt Grass" restaurants are the bomb. "MiMi's" for breakfast.  For a special occasion, The Mansion on Turtle Creek.
