  1. I've been to this place and it's great, though not under £8 sadly: http://home.btconnect.com/Lamberts/menus...

The St John in Archway is also lovely too http://www.timeout.com/london/restaurant...

And you might spot Jude Law!

You can't beat your own Mother's Sunday roast though. If your Mum doesn't live in London, find a good friend who's Mum does! :)

  2. Try the Anchor on the South Bank by Southwark bridge. great carvery, great views, great looking bar staff -- all for under 8 quid!

Of course, my Sunday lunches are legendary in North London social circles, so you could always use that 8 quid to buy wine, and come around!

  3. Under £8 is tricky in Central London!

Wetherspoons pub chain do roasts for about a fiver.  Can be hit or miss though!

  4. Hi,

Hmmm, that's a tricky one, don't think you can get a really good one unless it's cooked at home. Maybe you should come to dinner. Some pubs do a Sunday lunch that might be worth trying.

  5. according to this month's olive magfazine the best place to get a roast is (suprisingly) a new resto called roast - http://www.london-eating.co.uk/6515.htm

    however it will be pricey...

for a cheaper effort check out the king's arms in southark - a real locals pub that does a tasty roast on sunday and is full of character - http://www.pubs.com/pub_details.cfm?ID=2...
