  1. I was in Torino last fall for 2 weeks and loved it. Gorgeous city with lots of museums and famous for it's chocolate! On All Saint's Day there were a lot of Italian tourists but otherwise quiet as far as tourists are concerned. One drawback to this is that it is harder to find people who speak English. One plus is that there are virtually no souvenir shops (you have to visit the tobacco shops to find a memento).

  2. I'm Italian, I live in Porto Recanati, a small city near the sea, other beautiful cities in Italy are:

    - Pisa

    - Genova

    - Roma (the capital)

    - Milano

    - Venezia (romantic....)

    - Lecce

    - Cagliari

    - Portofino

    - Bologna

    - Firenze

  3. Cool cities/towns I went last year without a lot of tourists:

    Carpi

    Mirandola

    Modena

Genova (except near the Acquario and in the harbor area in general)

    Bologna

    Padova

  4. well. i havent been everywhere. but i really liked assisi (i never know where to put the double s lol). it was a cute and gorgeous city with a lot of history and nice little stores and very friendly people. and i didnt see as many tourists there as in rome for example... but then there are also some small cities up on some hills in tuscany, those were gorgeous too and pretty amazing!! like monte pulciano or whatever haha.

  5. Fiano Romano on the outskirts of rome

  6. Palermo!!! I love it!! It's very warm and sunny, and it's full of history and culture =)

  7. Sulmona in Abbruzzi

Very old historic town with aqueducts. Birthplace of the poet Ovid. Manufacturing center for the Mario Pellini confetti which are the colorful candied almonds - yum!
