  1. There are lots of beautiful plaes in Switzerand (I'm swiss...)

Lucerne is nice with it's lake and the mountains and so in Thun. Berne has a nice old downtown with a lovely veiw of the mountains. Go to the bernese oberland for hiking. I nice place is Grindelwald. If you want a beautiful view of the alps go to the Jungfraujoch or the Shilthorn (they are both expensive though)

The Trümmelbach falls are impressive to see, they're on the way to the Mürren, a great place to hike and a cute mountain village (stop there if you go to the shilthorn)

    Have fun!

  2. you have your answers already . lake lucerne and

The Berner Oberland spcifically grindelwald. zermatt is great also but if you narrowed it to one place grindelwald wins my vote.

  3. Lake Lucerne. It's the most beautiful pearl all over the Switzerland and alway been a "have-to-visit" place in Europe recommended by the travel agency.

  4. The Berner Oberland. Take a train from the capital Bern to Interlaken (about 1 hour) Here is a good starting point. There are two lakes there, Brienzer see and Thuner see. Hitch or take train to Grindelwald. Loads of hiking and some of the most impressive scenery in the world. Home to the famous Eiger mountain. Also has the lowest glaciers in Europe I believe. On the other side of the valley is Lauterbrunnen, here there are waterfalls cascading down this huge U-valley. Trummelbach falls are worth a visit.

  5. in obalant in bern everywhere  u can  go on aterraft on the rivers anything outdoors u can do in swizterland in bern it has a camp round witch is next to the river arre and they have grill fire everynight  yes u can do hitchhicking but i dont know  if somebody will pick u up

  6. Hands down, Lucerne!  Easy access to what you're looking for, and a beautiful city on a beautiful lake as well.

If you can get to Bern for a day, go there too.  The city itself is a world heritage site and very cool to explore.

Interlaken itself isn't that interesting but it's a great central point to get to the things you want to see too.  Great views of huge mountain peaks!

I don't remember seeing hitchhikers in Switzerland, but the people are very nice.  Maybe there's a website for hitch-hiking?  Or check the Lonely Planet books for advice.

You may want to check out the different train passes that are available too.  Some of the cablecars and mountain trains are discounted or free on the passes.
