  1. I suggest Palma de Mallorca. It's an island off of the East Coast of Spain. It's a very beautiful place. Personally I haven't been there but my parents have. I've seen pictures and it's a breathtaking place.

  2. the Parador at the Alhambra. considered the best Parador in Spain and right on the Alhambra grounds. if you can't get a room there (books up early) or it's too expensive, the Hotel America is right next door.

It's absolutely lovely, just a bit more like a B&B than a grand hotel.

and MAKE SURE to take a night time tour of the Alhambra. only way to really enjoy the architecture without the crowds. and it's crazy romantic.

also, one of the MOST beautiful hotels I have ever been to is the Casa de Carmona. (Carmona is a smaller town in Andalusia.) this is not the Parador (which is fine, but nothing special). seriously, it is small, elegant, phenomenal.

a GREAT RESOURCE is Karen Brown's guide to the Inns and Small Hotels of Spain. Her web site (below) has loads of great information, including favorite rooms and itineraries. definitely go pick up her book. I believe she also has a travel agency type service which might be worth looking into. she covers a bunch of price ranges and she has great taste.

    good luck! and happy honeymooning!
