What is the best pool cue to buy, one with a file down and glue on tip or the s***w on tips?

Meucci to me has the best midrange/higher end cues. Most pool cues that are of any significance are not s***w on tips. Because the central force exerted goes from the tip through the s***w, the ferrule will almost be sure to break leaving you cueless.

There really is no "best pool cue", or we'd all be playing with the same cue. Whatever cue you choose, be sure to opt for a good solid cue with a glue-on tip ONLY!

s***w-on tips are cheap and a waste of  money....period.

if you were considering a s***w on tip i'd recommend some type of mcdermott, they are cheap but they all have glue on tips and life time warranty's i spent a little over 400 for mine but they go all the way down to 150 so look at those
