I have to agree with my man, Eightbraker on this one.  The words "sturdy" and "folds" shouldn't be in the same sentence when it comes to a pool table.  I have seen super-cheap pool tables with folding legs before, but you're essentially buying a toy, not a quality piece of sports equipment.  Back when the Sears catalog was still around, I saw something like what you are describing.  If space is an issue, you can purchase special inserts so your pool table can double as a dining table.  If you are serious about quality, go to a billiards retail store and tell them your situation.  They can hook you up with whatever you need.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

A pool table that folds up? Never heard of such a thing. If there is such a thing I'd bet it is probably a piece of junk. Good luck!
