I have tried many different popcorn recipes, none of which come up to standard. I was wondering if any one has a good recipe that they can recommend. Thank you (:

  1. We use a cast iron dutch oven, Crisco for oil, Kosher salt when dunn, ,

every one we know say its the best, learned from old granny im 62, we like jollytime brand, oldest co. in the world

  2. the popcorn from the cinema -x

  3. SWEET POPCORN

    3 tablespoons butter

    2 tablespoons oil

    1/3 cup sugar

    1/4 teaspoon salt

    1/3 cup popcorn kernels (approximately)

1 drop of red food coloring (optional)

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter in the oil. Stir in the popcorn kernels.

Adjust popcorn quantity so that a single layer of popcorn kernels cover the bottom of the pan.

When the popcorn is heated, pour the sugar over all and cover with a tight lid.

Turn up the heat and stay by the pan, shaking it back and forth over the burner. The kernels should begin to pop - when they do, turn the heat down after a minute. Continue shaking the pan another minute or two and remove from heat.

Stir in a pat of butter and a pinch of salt and serve.

  4. I still make it the old fashioned way- the pan is the most importatnt piece- I have an old Club Aluminum pan that is perfect- you need something heavy, not this thin stainless pans, and with a good cover.

Pour two tablespoons of vegetable oil in the pan. Add 3 kernals of popping corn ( Orville Redenbacher's really is the best) When the kernals pop, add 2 cups of popping corn and shake the pan as the corn pops- Cook until popped- pour into a large bowl.

Melt 1/2 stick of butter in the microwave and pour over the popped corn, sprinkle with sea salt.

    Enjoy!

  5. buy a bag and pop it
