I am moving my ferrets from a fairly large cage to a fairly small room that is a lot larger than the cage...I have ferret-proofed all the walls and doors and windows, now for the hard part. What do I put in the room?(any home-made toy ideas?!) and I have wood floors but I have heard that you can't clean ferret pee out of the wood.....I was thinking linoleum...any advice will be most appreciated.

  1. linoleum is the best. It is cheap and the smell is harder to stick to. Carpet is the worst, it absorbs the smell and makes them smell worse.  Don't you have any toys? Tunnels, balls, interactive toys? If not, http://www.ferret.com has a lot of great choices.

Just make sure that if you put them in any 'hard' floor (linoleum, wood, etc.), make sure the poos don't sit out long if they miss...they get hard and stick to the floor and are hard to pry off.

  2. yep linoleum would be fine, its easy to clean up ferret accidents on that...

okay i would leave the cage you have now in the room and leave it open your ferrets will go into theyre cage to sleep, if you cant do this then a big snuggly bed like a at bed, lots of blankets..

    toys:

dig box - ferrets apsolute favourite you can fill it with soil, sand, bio digrabable packaging peanuts, long grain rice, ping pong balls.

paddling pool - a small tray like a cat litter tray filled with a small amount of water.

carrier bags, old jeans, tunnels, old shoes.

    good luck:D
