My cousin is 18 months old and definitely ready to be out of diapers, my aunt and I were wondering what the best potty is for a girl.

  1. I have a little girl and I used a whinnie the pooh potty that was plastic and it made flushing noises she took to it right away cause we had a star chart above it, she got to put a star sticker on it everytime she used the potty...kids will do anything for stickers! My only regret...... She was scared of the big potty........ So Iwish I woulda saved my money and bought a smaller padded toilet seat and a step stool and had her just start on the big potty and kept the star chart.

  2. The best one is in every bathroom in every home.  It's called "The bathroom toilet"  children don't need "potty seats" or "potty chairs".  It has been found in several studies that children in preschool/day care or kindergarten often wet/soil themselves because they are either afraid or don't know how to use a regular toilet.  Potty seats/chairs were developed so that parents wouldn't have to stay in a bathroom, to help balance and supervise their children.  I have three children who all started out on our bathroom toilet.

  3. Safety 1st "Potty 'N Step Stool".  Love it.  In fact, if you had asked this question a few months from now, I'd probably have offered you ours, but we're not quite done with it yet. :)

BTW, for our son, we took off the pee guard anyway, because a) he needs to learn aim, b) when he was learning to get on the seat when it was mounted on the toilet it blocked him, and c) if he slid wrong he could have gotten hurt.

  4. They are all pretty much the same, especially for girls, because they don't need a tall pee-guard like boys do. Just don't buy one of them that has a flusher and plays music. They then confuse this with a toy and are more interested in playing than going potty.
