Question:

What is the best product for decreasing under eye darkness/puffiness?

I have been waking up with puffy, dark under eyes lately. Are there any tried and true products out there to fix this? Could it be a vitamin or mineral deficiency? Are there any "procedures" to correct this? Someone told me there was a procedure that cauterizes the under eye "bag" and closes up the area so water can't rest there. Has anyone heard of this or know what it is called?

  1. And that's spring water you should be drinking by the way, not distill, purified or any other, unless can get your hands of some thermal spring water, but if anyone can help i know these folks will, www.drsebi.com

  2. In Chinese medicine, dark circles and bags under the eyes is a sign of Kidney deficiency. While there may be some cosmetic ways to deal with it temporarily, you must use Kidney tonics to restore Kidney energy. You could also work with an acupuncturist and get a DVD on Qi Gong exercises that would enhance Kidney energy.

  3. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day.

  4. This isn't my bag, but you might try hot washcloth/cold cream.  Get your washcloth wet with the hottest water you can stand and hold it to your face for a minute or so, to open  your pores, then use cold cream as normal.

The best product for that, I suspect, is sleep.

  5. place cucumber slices on both eyes for 10 minutes each morning and that will decrease the swelling and dark circles.  However most ppl get dark bags b/c of either too much sleep or not enough. B/c this is a common occurance (every morning?) there has to be an underlying issue.

my mom said they cud be allergies-"allergic shiners."  Whatever the h**l that means lol.

I had bags under my eyes for weeks straight (well along with swollen joints, muscle aches, headaches, light sensitivity) etc and I finally went to the doc and said all these things and got tested and diagnosed w/ lymes disease.

But def try the cucumbers, and if it is still a problem after a week or so then going to the docs shouldnt hurt.  Best of luck
