  1. We just got very good results from Domestos Limescale Remover.

  2. The work. First and for most What type of water do have.

  3. I tried all the products and none were very good.  LimeAway was probably the best.  The only thing that really works is to get a pumice stone (cheap to buy) and scrub off the limescale.  Doesn't take much work and it does the job.  Of course, i read an article by a woman who thinks that it is a crime to use a pumice stone on a ceramic toilet -  she said that the toilet should be treated like it was a China plate and never rubbed roughly.

  4. A sure fire guaranteed way that is probably the cheapest as well and requires just little effort would be to use wet/dry sandpaper. Depending on how bad/thick the stains are you should use only the coarsest grit necessary.  Try 400 or 600 grit first, and rougher if necessary. (the bigger the # the finer the grit). It wont leave any noticeable scratches unless you overdue the elbow grease. Keep the sandpaper wet and rinse it often.

  5. Cillit Bang should do the trick or Domestos. I've heard a bottle of coke does a great job too!

  6. I use a combination of Lemon Juice and Bicarbonate of Soda - works a treat. But if you don't want natural, go with Viakal - it fizzes and everything!

  7. They make a pumice stone that works great for this type of thing. Simply rub the stone over the scaled area and it is gone. I have used it myself and the stone does not leave any scratches in the porcelain.

  8. CLR (Calcium, lime and rust remover)

  9. Spirits of Salt (diulte hydrochloric acid)

    available from most chemists.

Cheaper and more effective than branded stuff -

follow instructions carefully re health and safety, but

makes your loo look like new (Oh for heaven's sake ... ).

  10. Coke!

  11. bam toilet bowl cleaner works great

  12. try cillit bang ,  do`s  the  job  for  me

  13. every plumber i know swears by Kilrock K multi purpose descaler, available at B&Q for £1.98 for a 250ml bottle, pour down loo, leave overnight , limescale gone !

  14. HCL (hydrochloric acid) [:

  15. I've heard that if you pour a bottle of fizzy drink in the bowl & don't flush for a while somehow the fizz erodes the limescale, worth a go?
