  1. Mahi, striped bass

  2. if not like fishy do not eat blufish for sure lol but mild tasting fish are tilapia ,cod, scrod, lemon sole, whitefish, flounder fluke ,they mostly are all the fish filets that are white in color

  3. Talapia is a good one. I, personally, think Grouper is another fantastic "not" fishy fish. Trout is median, same with flounder.. Stay away from Catfish and swordfish.

  4. Catfish or flounder good for grilling and steaming

  5. I don't like "fishy fish" either, so we always BBQ it (no smell in the house then).  You might like halibut, swordfish, shark, mahi mahi.  They are firmer fish, with more of a meat texture, and have very little fish smell.  They're great BBQ, with any type of marinade - teriyaki is especially good.  I don't like softer fish (trout, bass, etc - too fishy:)

  6. Chilean Sea Bass

    Cobian

    Flounder

  7. Stick with tilapia.

It's mild, forgiving if you over/under cook it, and it pairs nicely with sauces.

Most importantly, it is a very sustainable fish that is raised in farms that do not damage fisheries.

  8. Sole, cod, orange roughy, haddock, sea bass, halibut, flounder, are all mild, white fish that you might want to try.

Mahi is really nice, but comes in thicker pieces than fillets - great for grilling.

Basically, choose really fresh fish.  The "fishy" smell and taste usually means it is not as fresh.

  9. First of all, no fish should smell "fishy" or it is not fresh.  There are some fish that are milder than others.  It sounds like you would enjoy any one of the fish listed below.

Angler Fish - This large low-fat, firm-textured salt-water fish has a mild, sweet flavor that compares with lobster. Sometimes referred to as "poor man's lobster." Also called "Monkfish," and "goose-fish."

Dolphin Fish - Also called "Mahi Mahi" and "Dorado." Although this fish is a dolphin, it is not a mammal. To avoid confusion, the Hawaiian name "Mahi Mahi" is becoming prevalent. This fish is moderately fat with firm, flavorful flesh.

Flounder - A fine-textured flatfish prized for its delicate flavor. Some of the more popular varieties include "Fab," "English Sole," and "Plaice."

Haddock - A North Atlantic fish, the smaller cousin to the cod. The haddock has firm white flesh that is mild in flavor.

Halibut - A low-fat, firm white and mild-flavored fish from the flatfish family. Resembles a gigantic flounder. "Chicken Halibuts" weigh up to ten pounds and are considered the finest halibut.

Ono - The Hawaiian name for "Wahoo," a marine fish whose flesh compares favorably with Albacore. It provides a moderate to high-fat flesh that is white and slightly sweet. In Hawaii, "Ono" means "sweet."

Orange Roughy - A New Zealand area fish with lean, white flesh that is firm and mild. Also called "Slimeheads" (by fishermen--not by fish vendors). This popular fish can be poached, baked, broiled, or fried.

Striped Bass - This true bass is found along the Atlantic coast. It features six to eight horizontal stripes and provides a moderately fat, firm flesh with a mild, sweet flavor.

Swordfish - A saltwater food and sport fish with mild-flavored, moderately fat flesh. The flesh is red, dense, and meat-like. Thanks to its firmness, swordfish can be prepared by baking, broiling, grilling, poaching, or sautéing.

I have listed several different mild fish, not knowing where you are (Pacific or Atlantic coast).  The white flesh fish is usually the mildest....remember it should never smell fishy!

  10. catfish, cod, halibut, snapper, perch, bass, just to name a few

  11. Butterfish, Cabrea, Dover Sole, Sandabs.
