What is the best reason McCain took Palin as his nominee for VP?

1) She appeals to conservatives; right wing of the party was getting annoyed at McCain's compromising left wing agenda.

2) She appeals to women, mother of 5, up and comming professional is clearly a lot of things Hillary is not.

3) Puts the focus on experience - ok she lacks experience but she's not on top of the ticket like the other side. If the other side brings up experience they hurt themselves due to the fact Barak hasn't got much.

4) Focus on energy; she's a big time advocate of ANWR drilling which even McCain has opposed.
