My fiance and I are looking for seclusion and luxury. With an option to head into town for fancy dinner and drinks.

  1. Congrats! Here's a great guide:

    Romantic Getaways In Cancun:

  2. LeBlanc Resort and Spa in Cancun

An experience of sophisticated style, lavish personal attention, and uncompromising attention to detail. In addition the best features of Le Blanc Spa Resort are all included:

    • Luxurious accommodations

    • Haute cuisine

    • Delectable snacks

    • Premium drinks (domestic & imported)

    • Butler service

    • 24-hour room service

    • Non-motorized water sports

    • Dazzling entertainment

    • All taxes & gratuities

    • Wireless Internet

    • Unlimited select tours

    In short: Perfection.

The result now towers majestically over one of Mexico's most beautiful stretches of private beach, just 15 minutes from downtown Cancun and 25 minutes from the airport. Covering 5 acres, it offers 260 air-conditioned luxurious rooms with an ocean or lagoon view, balcony, double Jacuzzi, flat screen LCD TV with satellite and much more.

There are also eight international restaurants and bar/lounges, three outdoor pools (including two infinity pools) with an outdoor Jacuzzi and a fitness center. And the Spa has been designed to be your sanctuary of tranquility and peace, secluding you in an exquisitely luxurious environment of sensory pleasures.

    enjoy and congratulations)

  3. We stayed at Excellence last year for my 40th birthday.  Unbelievable!!!!  It is definitely a 5 star plus resort.  We are book April 23 - May 3 at Golden Parnassus and am very leery.   Wish we could afford to go back to Excellence, well worth the $$$$.

  4. The Moon Palace is a ways from downtown as said earlier.  However, what they didn't say was that it is so huge you never have to leave the resort if you choose not to.  They have both buffet style and fancy restaurants on the grounds and any kind of drinks you could imagine.  There is always something going on around the pool area and you can walk forever and not pass the same place twice.  Very clean and staff very helpful with anything including sightseeing trips.

  5. Moon Palace (south of town, near the airport) or Sun Palace (at the southern end of the hotel zone - couples only - read: no screamin' kids...)

The Palace Resorts are truly all-inclusive, food, drinks, bottled water (that adds up!) top shelf alcohol with dispensers in the rooms, jacuzzi tubs in the rooms, unlimited tours (Tulum, Chichen Itza. Coba, Isla Mujeres, etc,) - even all your toiletries.

Restaurants are great no need to spend extra in town.

You also have the option of heading to one of the other palace resorts for a day; your wristband is good at all.

We recently purchased a member week (8 days 7 nights) - it is actually cheaper than booking directly through the resort or an online site and you get additional perks - free airport transfers. manicure, pedicure, massage and a black wristband.  For Sept '08 this would run you 1945 for two at the Sun or Moon Palace (plus airfare); 1633 at the Beach or Cancun Palace; 1705 at the Cozumel Palace (which was where we were this time last month - sniff!)

LeBlanc Spa Palace is the cream of the cream of Palace Resorts, it is in Cancun.

There is a brand new Palace Resort on Isla Mujeres as well, 75 rooms approx so more intimate.  Contact me if you'd like to know more.

  6. My vote is for the Palace Resorts however not in Cancun but in Playa del Carmen.

Aventura Spa which is a Palace resort is wonderful...my husband and I go there for the weekends when ever we can (the advantage of living in Cancun year around). It is very romantic, they treat you like royalty...

  7. Hi

We have stayed her twice and were very very impressed.

No kids allowed,, very quiet....very relaxing...very pampered

get a swim out room near the spa......

IT is rated #1 in the area by tripadvisor.

    Excellence Riviera Cancun

  8. aventura palace.unbeatable....

  9. Moon Palace and Sun Palace are quite far from the nightlife. For a honeymoon I would pick LeBlanc. It is also owned by the Palace resorts and is their most upscale property and is closer to the nightlife. Sun Palace would require a 20 minute bus ride and the Moon Palace is even further than that. The RIu Palace Las AMericas is owned by the Riu chain and is right in the heart of the action, you can walk to all the nightlife. However, it is not an adult only property. There have been very few kids there when we go. I have been to the Sun Palace and the RPLA. I would recommend either. Moon Palace would be out of the question though. LeBlanc is a little hoitie toitie for me. Good luck and congrats on your upcoming nuptials.

  10. Ok, I see a theme here and I don't like it.  Here are my suggestions....

    Maroma

    Tides

    Paraiso de la Bonita

    Royal Hideaway

    Esencia

THESE are luxury resorts that will give you the feel you're looking for. R.H is an all-inclusive, and may be a bit more crowded, but it's still worth considering.

    Take it from a pro.
