Question:

What is the best retail brand of Mexican Chorizo?

A local grocer that carried an excellent Chorizo went out of business. Since then, I can't seem to find a good chorizo. I like Mexican (pork or beef) Chorizo that when you remove the skin and fry it, it will fall apart into a nice workable consistency. The consistency is finer than hamburger but not quite a paste. Also this Chorizo is found in the meat department (refrigerated area)and not vacuum packed in a dry package.

I tried some Johnsonville Mexican Chorizo last night that I found in a WalMart and it was just ok. It was kind of like hamburger when fried and not very spicy. My local butcher at our grocer said he would try and order me what I wanted if I can get him the brand.

Any help would be appreciated.
