What is the best rig for bottom fishing, for extra large and powerful fish?

what we use in saltwater is a chicken rig

short rod with 80 lb braid on it

then connected to a 3way swivel, conected to a circle hook and anpother 3way swivel connected to another circle hook and another connected to 30lb mono with a loop where we put a 16 oz-20 oz weight depending on the current

the hooks  have 80lb florocarbon and the swivels have 100 mono

this works well for depths of 160 feet to 320 feet

which is where we usually fish

well? what's an extra powerful fish?  to get down to the bottom, means using a weight of some sort, also, sounds like you might want extra Strong fishing line, and if you use that, then you need a good rod and reel for that.  Unless your talking about deep sea fishing, which is similar.

A heavy sinker or two and the stinkiest Bait you have. Along with a large hook. The larger the hook the larger the mouth the larger the fish.
