What is the best right hand position for the acoustic guitar?

is it resting on the bridge of floating in the air or what.

i have my wrist resting on the bridge when i play but i dont know if thats the best way

  1. Whatever you find comfortable.  There's no magic technique.  Everyone does it differently.  Some people have atrocious posture (ie. Michael Angelo Batio) but have practiced it enough that it works very well for them.

    If you can play the notes cleanly and move smoothly from string to string, you're doing good.  Keep practicing.


  2. hey you answered my question about pianos and i had a question. well my piano is a first act discovery kid piano. and will the two bars be completely no bars on it? if so i dont have that on mine

  3. You can play floating style or, rest your wrist on the bridge slightly. Sometimes, it depends if you solo and what technique or riffs you are playing.

    I use many different techniques and don't think about it. If yo go on youTube and watch this guy play a nylon string guitar with a floating hand technique, you will freak out. He is one of the best around.

    Just check this guy out and goes by the name of The rosenberg trio. You will flip.

  4. It helped me when i was beginning to to stretch out my fingers and rest them on the pick guard.
