Stephen, I ran a 14-team league for 15 years and found the best roster size was as follows: 2 QB, 3 RB, 3 WR, 1 WR or RB, 2 TE, 2 PK, 2 Def (depending on your scoring system and starting line up flexibility).  That allowed some halfway decent free agents to stick around.  Honestly, after 15 yrs, we found that a 12-team league is a better size, but 14 sure was a challenge to win!
