What is the best route by road from Waterford to the ferry in Dublin?

I live in Waterford, and was looking for the best route through, I assume Wexford and Wicklow, without having to purshase a sat nav, as I only plan to do the trip the once.

Go via Mullinavat towards Carlow, then Dublin. Then follow the signs to Dublin port, or take the M50 to Dun Laoghaire if you're getting the ferry from there.
