  1. If you are driving, , M25,M40 to M5, M69 then M1.  Long drive, if in doubt try the AA website and get a route map planned out for you.

  2. Edinburgh airport to the nearest airport to Guilford

  3. I would go straight down the A1 all the way to London. Take the M25 anticlockwise to junction 10, Guildford.

I know some parts of the A1 are not motorway standard but it still a very quick direct route.

If you cut across country to come down the M1/M6/M4 etc, you are putting miles on journey.

  4. M8 across to Glasgow, M73, M74, M6, M40 to Oxford, A34 to M4 J13, M4 J11 to A327 - Farnborough, A325 to Farnham, signposted to Guildford from there.

Pretty much doesn't matter which way you go there will be bad traffic. This way avoids M25, west coast roads tend to travel better than M1 / A1 routes. Should take about 8 - 9 hours at legal speeds.

    Good luck.

  5. You could try the

    R A C route planner

    leaving out motorways

but either way it will be

    a long journey,

  6. Try google maps or AA travel maps, its a long way down here.
