What is the best route when travelling to Eastern Canada?

I'm going on a road trip in September and I'm trying to figure out which way to go. I ultimately want to see PEI, NB,NS and possibly NFLD. I will be leaving from Ottawa. Any adive on this will be greatly appreciated.

Ottawa to Montreal via hwy#20 on thru to Quebec City.  Head south thru NB to St John.  Drive thru to Halifax and then back up to Truro NS and head to confederation bridge to PEI.  

Take bridge back to mainlaind NS and head up to cape breton to Glace bay to get ferries to nfld..

Nfld will be tough to fit unless you have ample time
