What is the best sealer for granite counter tops?

Considering that Granite is the HARDEST ROCK on the planet, and that counter tops allude to possible food prep areas, I'm baffled by the fact that SEALING is at all necessary.

Just my two "sense"

Granite is hard and would take something strong to discolor it ,but if you are worried there are lots of organic tile sealers available.

Why would you need to seal a granite counter top?

I just got mine put in this past Spring and was never told about having to seal them. I did some corbels and they really help the counter tops stand out.

I have never heard of anyone ever sealing a granite top,  but I suppose you could, contact your local countertop/granite dealer,
