What is the best seed to grow in lab mode?

I wanna start a project about Phototropism and I should grow some plants in lab mode, I want to know which seed is the best one to grow in lab condition (I wanna use sth like torch's light to grow the plant). What do you suggest?

  1. ==All types of beans are good for lab growth .

    They are quick growing and show responses to the stimuli like light very well.

    In monocots wheat is very good as it also germinates quickly.

    Bending towards the light can easily be observed . They have uniformity in germination and growth . So when upright , the seedlings look like Soldiers on a parade ground . Their bending is also uniform . Easy to convince the onlookers .

    Torch battery will be exhausted very soon  and you have to replace it again and again .( you have to put it on continuously for many hours !!!)

    Use electric bulb of very low / suitable wattage .
