  1. The film with the highest box office gross (not adjusted inflation) is:

    TITANTIC (1997)

Directed by James Cameron and starring Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet

    * To the above answerer, there have been numeous films about the Titantic (with several even called "Titantic")

Titantic made the largest straight monetary sum but when adjusted for iinflation, other films from the past surpass it.

    TOP TEN (Adjusted for inflation)

    1 Gone with the Wind MGM $1,430,476,000 $198,676,459 1939^

  2. It is Titanic, they only made the one with DiCaprio....

  3. You are right, it was The Titanic, the one made with Leonardo Decaprio.  there were many Titanic films made, some good, some sucked.  The Unsinkable Molly Brown staring Debbie Reynolds was just one.  Google highest grossing movies and a list from Wikipedia will pop up which is actually pretty interesting.

  4. If you are referring to highest grossing you will have to look at 2 things....how much did it cost to actually make the movie, and inflation.  You will also have to consider wether or not you are referring to in movie theaters alone or movie and dvd

#1 (if we are referring to gross sales only) would be The Titanic...and that is domestically and globally.

Now if you consider inflation with the number of "movie" tickets sold, the list goes as follows:

1 Gone with the Wind 283,100,000

2 Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs 225,300,000

    3 Star Wars Fox 176,900,000

    4 E.T. 158,000,000

    5 101 Dalmatians 143,100,000

    6 Bambi 140,800,000

    7 Titanic 130,900,000

    8 Jaws Universal 128,600,000

9 The Sound of Music 119,300,000

    10 The Ten Commandments 117,800,000

  5. 1 titanic

    2 strar wars

    3 the dark night

i think titanic was 6 mill ion

  6. Actually there is lots of versions of the Titantic :)

Anyways it's the 1997 version with Leonardo DiCaprio.
