What is the best service to use when shipping something heavy?

I have four 20 inch Chrome rims with tires I might need to ship out. Im trying to calculate how much to charge for shipping if sold on ebay. Thanks in advance.

gee, why would anyone ship those heavy items? I hope you sold them and UPS would be the best bet.

Probably the best thing to do is package one up and take it down to UPS or FedEx and see how much it would cost then multiply by 4.

It's been a while since I've sold anything on EBay, but you might even be able to state that shipping charges will be calculate once you know the address of the winning bidder.

For what it's worth, you might be better off shipping with a freight carrier rather than UPS or FedEx.

I would use FedEx. To be honost I just hate UPS. They are cheaper, but you get what you pay for, and you don't want to be sorry when your chrome rims are bent to h**l.

I would use Alliance Air Freight & Logistics 800.684.6359(www.shipalliance.com). They do ground shipping & handle the shipping for many wheel companies.

Go to the websites of the various carriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL, and many LTL carriers), they all have calculators.

If you want them to arrive safely, you will probably need to stack them on a pallet, and strap them down.  Don't forget to include that in your shipping and handling charges.

I shipped a very heavy djembe African drum 3000 miles through Fed Ex last year and it cost just under $40.00.

I have had the WORST luck with UPS and for something like that... I wouldn't trust them.

I would go with DHL! FEDEX and  UPS never hold up to the contracted shipping date and that = money waisted. I ship and receive all the time and have never had a problem with DHL.

go to usps.com and look for shipping calculator it will estimate the shipping for you.

Yellow or Roadway freight. Both are great companies.
