I would like to start some corals and maybe an anemone and a clownfish, am I getting over my head? Is a 40gal tank big enough? What kind of lighting is best?

  1. A nano tank. It's an relatively inexpensive all in one set up. All you do is turn it on and it does the rest.

  2. actually u are better off with a 40 over a nano. a nano is small and can easily be contaminated.. Small does not mean easier. start slow, if corals are your goal once you get your tank established try some frags, maybe colt coral or some palys, see how it goes. keep the temp around 80 and set a timer on a t-5 lite to start, you may want to upgrade to a metal halide in time. Anemones are relatively easy, stick to the pacific varieties, maybe a bubble. Clownfish can be territorial, keep that in mind...good luck and happy reefing.
