I have been using Head and Shoulders and have now been using Nizoral . I cannot afford a prescription foam ( OLUX) I was using before so I am now trying different shampoos --just looking for the most effective over the counter shampoo

  1. My doctor actually told me to purchase a bottle of T-Gel as part of my treatment. Stay away from Dermarest as I've found that all it does is just take the itch away; does nothing to calm the redness or get rid of flakes. I also had some excellent results just using Selsun Blue, so give that one a try before you reach for anything super expensive. Depending on the severity of your psoriasis, you may have to look at other options for clearing up your scalp, such as a lotion or a prescription shampoo. The nature of psoriasis is definitely not fun, so you have to roll with whatever works for you!

Good luck! And keep hoping for a cure!

  2. Call the dematologist and ask if they can call you in the Clobetasol solution instead of the Olux.  It is the same  ingredient but just in a liquid form.  Also it is very cheap.
