I am from Florida (US) and will be visiting Ireland soon. My son lives in Enniskillen, NI and friends live in Cork. What is the best route between those two cities? By best, I mean the shortest or the fastest. Thank you so much!

  1. go to http://www.aaroadwatch.ie/routes/

type in enniskillen and cork city, or wherever you are going in Cork.

The roads are a whole lot better than years ago, have a good time in ireland

  2. go to Belfast city airport and fly to Cork with Aer arann- www.aerarann.com or in Northern ireland ring free 0800 5872324

flys twice a day Mon- fri, once on a Sunday, no flights on a saturday

  3. try going on mapquest.com. i have no idea where those cities are, but mapquest helps me when I travel

  4. As barbara b says, you can follow the AA roadwatch suggestions. The only observation I would make is that it might take a lot longer than the 4 hours 13 minutes they suggest for the 216 miles/349 kilometres because (a) it assumes over 50mph average on a route that is mostly single carriageway (b) you have to go through some towns which don't yet have bypasses such as Thurles - this will be slow.

I suggest you allow 5.5-6 hour and take breaks in interesting places such as Birr and Cashel. Safe driving!
