What is the best size longboard/mini mal for surfing?

I live in socal santa barbara california and I want a board I can manuever on but still walk on and be a longboard. I was thinking about an 8 foot board or something. Im pretty good at surfing and have been doing it a couple of years. Also wondering about the nose what shape should it be. Thank you so much.

Check out 9:Fish Surfboard's Koi (http://www.9fishsurf.com/koi.html).  It's very maneuverable for a board that size and definitely big enough for you to walk on.

How tall are you??? If your about average sze the an 8ft should be good. Look for a very rounded nose with a concave on the underside of the nose. This will be the best for nose riding.

Go down to a local surfshop where they can custom make you a board. They will set you up with the perfect board based on your size and what you tell them you are wanting to do while riding. The possibilities are endless with custom made boards these days. I know a few shapers that have there own machines that are run off of a computer, you type in the dimensions you want and the machine pumps it out and the shaper does some finishing touches then glasses it.

   Besides, The professional shapers are going to know a lot more about what they are talking about then most of us answering your question (unless one of you answering is a shaper).
