A pomeranian, they are sweet dogs, and they love people! They are rather hard to train, but good luck!

A brussels griffon - they love walks and can go for hours, love people and are very friendly and people are always drawn to them and on your lazy are prepared to lie down all day!!!

I am partial to three breeds, but that's because I'm bias. I like miniature pinschers, I have two. But if I were to get another small dog, it would have to be either a Japanese Chin or a Pekingese. Although I also like Italian Greyhounds and English Toy Spaniels, but I wouldn't get either of those.

But for you I wouldn't pick those, well not all of those. Min Pins are VERY energetic and VERY playful but they need socialization with people. Pugs are people loving and fun loving but not every likes how they look. Cavalier King Charles Spaniels love everyone and are derived from Spaniels which are very energetic so they are a good walking dog. So for you my list of suitable dogs would be

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

Italian Greyhound

Chinese Crested

Pug

Shih Tzu

Cocker Spaniel

you should look these breeds up. Some of them require extensive grooming and you may not want that and others you may find ugly. Good Luck!

toy rat terrier- these are the longest living dog- 18 years is normal & they are very intelligent- We have 2 & they practically trained themselves. Best dogs I have ever had & I have tried my fair share of dogs.

West Highland Terriers are great,very smart and loves other people and animals.I've had two, a male and a female and the female lived 18years and the male lived 16 years. They were a joy to have.

I think the pug is the best. They are the sweetest dogs and natural clowns. I own one and she was very easy to train as long as i used food. They do shed a lot though
