Have you thought about looking at what events museums in London offer for children during the day? A number of museums offer special family events during week days.  If you have a group of other mums that are looking for things to do, but don't necessarily want to spend a lot of money or just sit in a coffeeshop, you could visit a number of these museum events.  Below is a list from events website Spoonfed of all of the 'family' events in London - although some of them wouldn't appeal to a toddler, there are a lot of great options that you might find helpful!  Good luck :)

Children's centres have loads of activities on too.

Do you have a sure start in your area? How about swimming classes? You could look for toddler groups in your area as well.

theres some good clubs in crouch end and in priary park there is a lot of posters for them. in church halls and centres there are a lot of mumy and baby clubs. good luck
