What is the best software for copying dvd's???

I want to make copies on my kids movies since they are always being used a lot.

I would like to have a back up in case something happens to them, what is the best software/way to make copies of them, if some are copy protected?

Please be explicit, I am not that tech savvy thanks in advance.

  2. its difficult to do for free but to actually copy them you need to decrypt the dvd then encode to a disc (not as hard as it sounds)

    i use dvd fab

    you can decrypt the film and also burn to disc in the same program
