I've been through many World Series titles, a Giants Super Bowl, some great Jets victories, some good Knicks moments...but for me, NOTHING TOPS AARON BOONE! Greatest moment of not just my sporting life, but my life in General. Boston fans are such a******s who are white trash scum, it was awesome shutting them up for a year. Thats why the Super Bowl was awesome this year as well. I'm a Jets fan, but I like the Giants and Patriots fans are trash scum like Red Sox fan so it was awesome for Boston to shut up again.

Liverpool's comeback in Europe was awesome. I'm a huge Liverpool fan, that was the greatest victory in team history without a doubt. Down 3-0, 3-3, and then winning on Penals. Unreal. Thats where Gerrard became Legend.

What about you?

  1. 1. Donavan Bailey at the Atlanta Olympics.

    2. Jays winning the World series..

    What I saw in person.

Nolan Ryan taking a no-no into the 9th against Toronto at the Ex. I was sitting right beside the dugout. Ryan was my fav player of all time.

  2. Either Aaron Boone's home run in '03 to push the Yankees over the Red Sox or the Yankees winning the last four games of the '96 World Series to beat the Braves. The latter was special to me because it was the first Yankees championship I was old enough to really appreciate. I was too young for '77 and '78,

Also up there: Syracuse beating Kansas in the 2003 NCAA basketball national title game. I watched the ENTIRE game while on the phone with two of my best friends and fellow 'Cuse alums. When the final shot fell into Keuth Duany's hands and the game was over, I shouted so d**n loud. A bonus to that: I won our office pool, beating out my boss by a few points to take the win and $95.

The Rangers '94 Stanley Cup run was great, too. But I didn't have cable and listened to all the games on the radio. I did see the postgame Cup celebration, though, which was shown live on Ch. 5 in New York.

  3. Thanks for dumping c**p all over Boston (sarcasm), but I'd have to say The Celtics in 2008. Man last year they had the worst record and this year they had the best or The Red Sox comeback. You should at least give them credit for coming back 3-0. Great comeback.

  4. I'm a Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan so I'm still waiting for my best sporting moment.

The Drive, the fumble, Jose Mesa etc.  :-(

  5. When the Red Sox came back from down 3-0 to the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS to win the series 4-3 and go on to win (and sweep) the World Series for the first time in 86 years.

--I knew that would p**s you off

  6. Red Sox come back was awesome.

Randy Johnson hitting a bird with a fastball (weird as heck) was pretty awesome.

Bo Jackson bulldozing Bozworth was great.

Sid Bream sliding into home was phenomenal.

Pedro throwing Zimmer to the ground was hysterical.

But, by and far, the best moment was seeing Nolan Ryan kick the shizit out of Robin Ventura...no doubt about it!

  7. dalton carriker walk off homer for the llws championship game

  8. Mine involves me. Softball League championship, bases loaded, 1 out, bottom 9, tied game and I got the walk-off game winning hit.

  9. when aaron boone hit that walk off

  10. Game six of the 1991 world series, i was 10 years old and can't really remember exactly how it went down, but kirby puckett robbed what would have been a hr nowadays, but back then the metrodome had plexiglass surrounding the outfield, none the less he jumped way higher than you would ever think that round man could, and made the man retreat back to first instead of rounding the bases and scoring. Then in the bottom of the 11th puckett hit the walk off home run to win the game 4-3. And well you all know what Jack Morris did game 7 pitch 10 shoutout innings, 1-0 victory, and the rest is a beutiful memory for all die hard Twins fans.

    R.I.P. Kirby Puckett 1960-2006

  11. Justin S - You're strange.  Everything you've listed is violent in nature.  What's so funny about Pedro knocking a 72 year old man to the ground.  Seek professional help!

For me it was the Phillies winning the 1980 world series.  My dad took me to game 6 at Veterans Stadium.  It was incredible.

  12. OCT 25th 2005 WHEN JUAN URIBE {THE DOMINICAN "I MURDER PEOPLE FOE FUN" SUPER ARM THREW THE BALL TO FIRST TO GET THE OUT THAT WON THE WORLD SERIES FOR MY

    CHICAGO WHITE SOX

    SWEPT THE SERIES

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW.... I GOT LOVE FOR URIBE...HE GOT CREED ON THE STREET AND FIELD.  WHO SHOT YA....HAHA

OH....HIS VERDICT CAME BACK NOT GUILITY.

  13. well, since it's the baseball section i'll say robin ventura's walk off grand slam single.

    HOWEVER

the greatest sporting moment in my life was without a doubt watching the Rangers win the 1994 cup. What a team. Adam Graves, Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Mike Richter, Alexi Kovalev and who could forget the lesser known but legendary Essa Tikkanen and Jeff Beukeboom.

Watching Messier with the cup was priceless. I still have the paper with his picture holding the cup on the front page titled "THE WAIT IS OVER!!!!"

I also still hear the 1940 chants...

alright, enough reflecting on greatness, back to reality.

  14. My first game in the Press Box at Jacob's Field, were I will soon be the voice of the Cleveland Indians Radio Network...or any other MLB team...

  15. When Varitek slapped that sissy, choke artist Alex Rodriguez in 2004.

  16. Two world series victories later and I'm STILL asking "Who the FK is Aaron Boone?!"

I DID love the '04 playoff victory over the Yankees though.  that has to be the best comeback in sports history period.  How do you lose a series when you're up 3-0?!

PS- didn't the Yankees lose to the Marlins in '03?

Oh and my best moment was attending the Curt Schilling bloody sock WS game at Fenway in '04.  Surreal.

  17. My best moment was in high school baseball.

Freshman year (starting catcher for varsity). We had a 7-3 lead going into the 7th. The coach put in a few subs who didn't get much playing time. As a result, we had a bunch of fielding errors and the other team tied the game 7-7 in the top of the inning. In the bottom of the inning, I was up with 1 out and a runner on first. I smashed a double deep into left center to drive in the game winning run. It was the first of only 2 walk-off hits I've had in my life.

    For professional sports:

1995 Mariners playoff run. 1st there was the come from behind win in the one game playoff, then Edgar's walk-off double that scored Griffey Jr from 1st base to beat the yankees in game 5 of the divisional series.

Also, I have to say Kirk Gibson's pinch-hit homerun. or the Seahawks superbowl season.

  18. Aaron Boone's home run is very high up there. But I really think that the Giants Superbowl win this year was the best sporting moment of my life so far.
