  1. Perth of course.  Although its isolated from the rest of Australia, its very close to Bali and Thailand (some 4 hours away).  Work is also plenty.  Summer is 'summer'!

Its also a very beautiful city with loads of nice parks and beaches.

  2. Totally biased opinion.

South Australia and the best place to live is on the south coast down by Goolwa or Victor Harbor way.

  3. Western Australia (Perth)

    Nice weather

    Nice Beaches

We got voted the friendliest state aswell :)

Also very clean, only thing is that we are quite isolated...

  4. It does really does depends what you are personally after, for example some people may think Hobart is the best place to live as it is quite, clean, beautiful, and has cooler weather, another person may think that Sydney is the best place to live as it is big, busy & bustling, beautiful and has warmer weather, neither answerer is right or wrong, it really depends on what you like and want, and what you think is best. As some previous responses have mentioned that people can be biased with such answers, this is true, Australians can be pretty parochial when it comes to this sort of question, and people will often say that their city or state is the “best” place to live, and for them this is true.

I've added 2 links, the first one gives a comprehensive rundown comparison of the major Australian cities (below).

  5. The best state is Queensland. It is sunny (Queensland=sunshine state) and has great beaches, Surfers Paradise the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. The weather is predictable and great, no carrying umbrellas just in case it rains. Brisbane is a great city as it's not ambushed by tourists and close to the two main beaches. Brisbanes South Bank is a great place to shop, swim and watch movies. A stroll or bike ride down the riverfront is peaceful in the evening.

  6. You are going to get a lot of different opinions and they are all Bias.

I t all depends on what weather & things  you like.

Personally I'm a Victorian and love living here I love having seasons not just hot & wet & hot & dry I also love the multicultralism of the area I live in.

  7. i used to live in australia, and personally, i think that there are a couple of nice cities.

perth is very nice, its a great city with an awsome climate. its on the beach, and has almost anything you'll need in it.

i dont know if this applies to you, but the universitie's great as well. the only problem with perth is that it is quite isolated, comparitively, so its a good journey to go anywhere else for a holiday. But some of the cities in south Western Australia can be great for a visit as well, and their in easy driving distance.

The best place to live, i would think, youls be in southern New South Wales. It gets nice amounts of rain, and has a great climate as well. the beaches there are nice and clam as well, with slightly warmer waters that perth. i wouldnt suggest living in sydney, its not very nice if you dont live in the upper end suburbs. places like newcastle are great though.

I would suggest sticking to the coast, inland can get too dry and isolated. But overall, Australia's a great place, so most of the places are great!
