the best street bike is a kawasaki ninja 650R  it is really fast, looks good, handles amazingly, and it is less than $7000.  my bro has one, and i ride it all the time.  it is a great bike.

and although i agree with him on that, i disagree about choppers.

I personally like street bikes (cbr1000=s*x), and CLASSIC choppers, but any true motorcyclist (or motor-anything enthusiast) knows that its about doing your own thing.
