I have no credit card and this will be my first, so which one is best. There are so many to choose from with different rates and rewards but I want to know which is the best overall and also in terms of rewards as well with low or nonexistent interest rate. Thanks in advance

  1. Capital One Standard Platinum for Student. http://bestcreditcardratings.com/student...

  2. I'm a fan of the Citi mtvU card (5% rewards at restaurants, book stores, movie theaters, and video stores) and the Citi Driver's Edge for College Students (3% rewards at gas stations, grocery stores, and drug stores).

I really wish I was a student so I could get the Citi mtvU card because it's the *only* card that pays 5% rewards at restaurants.

You can use this rewards calculator to see which student rewards card will pay you the most for your normal expense profile:

  3. There will be no clear cut answer. Everyone who sells a card or has a student card will think theirs is best! It sounds like you have done a lil research, and i suggest you do a little more. Set up a worksheet detailing the key factors you are looking for (Interest rate, APR, & rewards usually) and call the creditors directly. Give competitve quotes to the creditors on the phone to maximize rewards and to get the lowest rate possible. After 5-10 calls use your worksheet to find the best card for you!

I think this is a good one (discover student)

  4. Its hard to pick the best one for you because all of our needs are different. I think you should apply for few of them you like because you may not get approved for all of them. The following site picks out the best student cards out of the bunch. Maybe that'll help you narrow your search.

  5. CApital one sucks,  go for a citi or discover or go to a site you can compare the cards by category side by side and choose the one that best suits your needs.

  6. The DISCOVER STUDENT CARD!  I have it and love it.  Low interest rates, no annual fee, great rewards program and they also help you ensure you dont s***w up your credit.  Whatever card you decide to get check out applyfastbankcards, they pay you $40 to apply for Student cards.  Good luck:)

  7. See:

  8. If you're looking for the lowest interest rate, the Citi Platinum Select for College Students is probably your best bet. But if you'd like to earn some rewards, you'll have a few options to choose from. Here are some examples: http://www.wowcreditcards.com/student.ht...

The Citi Dividend Platinum Select or Discover Student Card are good choices if you're looking for simple 'cash back' rewards. If you'd like more specific reward options, check out the mtvU or Drivers Edge card (both from Citi)...
